There have been a few things rattling around in my brain for a while and rather than letting them just bounce around up there forever, I figured, "Why not start a blog?"

BEGIN TRANSMISSION

Life has always been about music, not necessarily playing music, but listening to it. My taste has constantly evolved, but it seems like I'm starting to get to a point where it's too much work to find new bands. In college and the first year or two after, I still had the time to spend looking around for new bands to listen to. It seems like now I just don't want to spend a couple hours each night listening to new stuff that might or might not be good.

I've heard the saying before that whatever music you liked when you first fell in love would be the music you liked for the rest of your life, but I feel like that's a crock. I haven't been in love, but I still find myself getting into a rut, or rather a groove. I've been listening to the same 10 or so albums/bands for the past 8 months. I barely went through my yearly Minus the Bear phase in the fall.

I guess rather than finding new music, I'm starting to appreciate my old favorites more and more. I may have more to say on the topic later, but that's all for now.
